MMI Foundation Info
The MMI Foundation was organized and incorporated for the purpose of stimulating voluntary private support from alumni, parents, friends, corporations, foundations, and others for the benefit of Marion Military Institute. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees. Under provisions of ACT 230-2006 of the Alabama Legislature, they also act as a Board of Advisors to provide advice and counsel to the President, the Chancellor of the Department of Post Secondary Education, and the Alabama State Board of Education. The MMI Foundation serves as the custodian for the Library archives, artifacts, and the MMI endowment.
The MMI Foundation obtains, retains, and invests donations from private individuals and other entities to support the mission and priorities of MMI. The Foundation provides scholarships for cadets and necessary resources to improve and expand educational programs and facilities to a level not otherwise achievable with institutional funds alone.
There are three boards that serve in an advisory capacity to help further MMI's mission:
• MMI Board of Trustees & Advisors
• Presidential Advisory Council
• MMI Alumni Brigade
