For MMI SAP cadets, West Point class of 2019 apointments total 27

All 23 of MMI's West Point Association of Graduates scholars, in addition to 4 self-prep Service Academy Program students, have received an appointment to the U.S. Military Academy class of 2019. Under faculty advisor LTC David Bauer, USA (Ret), (USMA class of 1960), the Marion to USMA pipeline stays strong.

MMI Hosts U.S. Coast Guard Commandant, ADM Zukunft, who delivers 3 USCGA Appointments

MMI was fortunate to host the highest ranking Coast Guard officer in the nation on its college campus on Jan. 29. Traveling with U.S. Coast Guard Commandant ADM Paul Zukunft was his wife Fran, as well as several staffers from Washington, D.C. Joining him on campus were U.S. Coast Guard Academy Admissions team members. The highlight of the visit was when ADM Zukunft (USCGA '77) completely surprised three self-prep Service Academy Program cadets with well-deserved appointments to the Coast Guard Academy class of 2019. 

 

West Point Admissions Officers Visit Campus

LTC Viles (Deputy Director of Admissions) and CPT Dupuis (Civil Prep Admissions Officer) visited MMI in late October. They received tours and briefings about MMI’ s Service Academy Program, met with staff and faculty, and provided guidance for the MMI cadets seeking admission to West Point. MMI has the largest number of West Point Preparatory Program Scholars in the nation (23 of 31 nationwide this year) and the largest contingent of former students at West Point (100+ former MMI cadets there now). LTC Bauer, West Point Advisor at MMI, visited West Point this fall to coordinate about scholarships, the academic program, and visit with former MMI cadets (he continued the annual tradition of taking the new Plebes to dinner).

LtGen Kelley Meets with Falcon Scholars

On Dec. 2, LtGen Jay Kelley, President of the U.S. Air Force Academy's Falcon Foundation, met with MMI's Air Force Academy candidates in the Board Room. 

Capt Wallace advises Naval Academy Candidates

On Nov. 17, CAPT Ed Wallace, USN (Ret), Executive Director of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation, visited MMI to meet with Naval Academy candidates and present scholars with their pins. 

MMI President Reconnects with Young Alumni in Colorado Springs

Former MMI cadets now attending the U.S. Air Force Academy reconnected with MMI's President, Col. David J. Mollahan, USMC (Ret), during the Fall 2014 Falcon Banquet.
