Marion Military Institute

Financial Aid Process

Dear Prospective Cadet:

Greetings from the Office of Financial Aid at Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama!  We are so excited that you have an interest in our College, and we look forward to servicing your student financial aid needs!

MMI is one of the premier military schools in the United States and is well deserving of your selection.  Financial Assistance includes federal, state, and institutional grants and scholarships along with U.S. Army ROTC scholarships, National Guard & Reserve Tuition Assistance, as well as Academy Foundation Scholarships just to name a few.  MMI in-house scholarships are also available.  Note: No MMI in-house scholarships will be awarded if a prospective cadet does not complete a FAFSA.  The MMI Office of Financial Aid uses the federal government’s verified student information to award these scholarships. There are a few initial steps that you need to take so that we can successfully assist you with planning to pay for your college education.  This process is very important and mandatory for you to complete to receive the best financial aid package possible!

Need money for College? Applying for financial aid is easy as 1-2-3!

One:  Apply for U.S. Department of Education PINs online at, if you and your parents don’t already have them.

Two:  Fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) online at  You can use your PIN to sign electronically before you start.  The MMI federal school code is 001026.

You will see a confirmation page with a confirmation number and your EFC (estimated Expected Family Contribution) number.  MMI uses the EFC to calculate and determine what type and amount of financial assistance you will be eligible to receive.

Three:  Follow-up on your FASFA.  If you gave an e-mail address at the time of application, you will receive your SAR (Student Aid Report) within 5 days.  At that time, please be sure that your information is correct.

There are several payment options including a deferred payment plan should you decide not to apply for federal aid; nonetheless, arrangements must be made prior to the beginning of classes to utilize these services.

I hope to receive your financial aid information soon so that we can complete the financial aid process and reassure you and your parents that you are making the right decision to select Marion Military Institute to further your education.  Also, if you have not done so, please complete the admissions process because non-admitted students will not receive complete financial aid packaging.
