Vision Goal for the MMI Capital Campaign
THE VISION: $12.8 Million
If MMI is able to surpass its original campaign working goal of $6,575,000, we intend to fund the following projects while working toward our vision goal of $12,800,000:
Recreational and physical fitness facilities
To better support MMI’s physical fitness mission, athletic programs, and military training and leadership development, recreational and physical fitness facilities will be expanded and improved. Such an effort will include the creation of a first class fitness center, a facility for wrestling and martial arts programs, and an improved basketball facility. Additionally, military training capabilities will be improved or developed to include the indoor rifle range, an obstacle course and a reaction course. These efforts will enhance physical and leadership development, cadet satisfaction with residential life, extra-curricular opportunities and general cadet welfare.
Disaster/emergency notification system
At a time when parents are most concerned about the safety of their children on college campuses, MMI will modernize its disaster/emergency notification system. All buildings will be equipped with upgraded fire alarm systems and public announcement notification capabilities. This will help to provide a superior campus safety environment.
General infrastructure
As MMI continues to age, the most basic infrastructure is beginning to degrade. The campus infrastructure must not only be highly functional, but should give the appearance of a professionally managed organization. Roads, sidewalks and steps must reflect MMI’s high standards of operation. Improvements are necessary to strengthen structural integrity and improve function, general safety and aesthetics.
Campus electrical grid
A modern campus in the 21st century should be supported by the most cost effective and reliable power distribution capability. MMI’s power grid will be modernized to reduce operation and maintenance costs, reduce susceptibility to weather events, and improve campus aesthetics. The electrical grid will go underground and various support equipment, such as transformers, switches, etc., will be upgraded to the most current standards.
