Athletics
Marion Military Institute takes great pride in its rich heritage of producing quality athletic programs that compete at the highest levels.
Our athletic programs are maintained as a vital component of the student body. Student-athletes are provided an educational environment conducive to the development of the whole person – intellectually, socially, spiritually, physically, and morally. They are provided an opportunity and encouraged to progress toward the completion of a college degree, and have the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities in a structured environment consistent with high standards of scholarship, sportsmanship, leadership, and institutional loyalty. The primary purpose of the athletic program is to provide those experiences which complement and support student-athletes in their pursuit of a quality education.
Our Intercollegiate Athletic Programs compete in Division I of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and are a member of the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC). We currently offer Men’s Soccer, Men’s Basketball, Baseball and Women's Tennis. Next year we will field our first intercollegiate softball program. Our wrestling program competes in the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA). MMI teams have been recognized at the conference, regional and national levels with individual players having received All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American honors.
Our Interscholastic Athletic Programs compete in the 2A Classification of Alabama Independent Schools Association (AISA). Programs offered include: football, volleyball, girls and boys basketball, baseball, softball, track and golf. MMI teams have captured Area, Regional and State Titles as well as numerous runner-up trophies. Individual players have been recognized on all levels, including: Players of the Year, All-Area, All-State, and All-Star. Our coaches have also been recognized numerously with coaching appearances at All-Star contests and “Coach of the Year” honors.
It is an exciting time to be part of the Marion Military Institute athletic family. If you would like to learn more about the Marion Military Institute experience, feel free to contact me or one of our coaches anytime.
