Dear New MMI Cadet:
Welcome to Marion Military Institute (MMI) and to an exciting and important part of your life. You are now officially admitted to MMI as a "ROC" (Recruit On Campus), class of 2010, and, speaking for the entire MMI family, we are glad you have chosen to join our Corps! During your time at MMI, you will encounter a world of new ideas, new concepts, and new friends. This year, we are expecting one of the largest college enrollments within our 166 year history, and you will have the opportunity to interact with students of diverse backgrounds from the great state of Alabama and nearly every state in the nation.
One of the major strengths of MMI is that students have the opportunity to pursue an appointment to one of the five U.S. Service Academies or earn their commission through ROTC training. MMI also offer an outstanding leadership development program for non-military Basic Cadets. Through these leadership opportunities you will gain confidence and valuable leadership skills.
At Marion Military Institute, your voice matters, but it is your job to speak up and make it heard. Get plugged in as quickly as you can doing something you're passionate about. Join an organization that challenges your mind and stretches your physical limitations, and in doing so, you will become a better leader! Find an upperclassman and a faculty member who will mentor you.
I hope you will find your educational journey at MMI enjoyable and rewarding. Since my arrival, September 2006, it has been an honor and a privilege to serve this great military college. You have my best wishes for a great college experience and a successful future.
Welcome to the MMI family!
