Admission Procedures
Marion Military Institute (MMI) 2007-08

Admission procedures at MMI are simple, whether you are entering college for the first time or transferring from another college or university.

MMI accepts all graduates of accredited Alabama and out-of-state secondary schools who meet specified admission requirements.

Admission by special approval is available to outstanding high school students prior to their graduation as well as students who have passed the General Educational Development (GED).

How To Apply:
Complete the Application for Admission (online form OR down loadable PDF file) early in your senior year. If you need assistance, please contact the MMI Office of Admissions. Students who were previously enrolled at Marion Military Institute must re-apply for admission as a Re-admitted Student if they have not been enrolled at MMI during the previous academic term.

Along with the Application for Admission, submit a sixth-semester (through the junior year) high school transcript and a $40 application fee. Your admission application will not be processed without this fee.
When submitting your application fee by check, please indicate on the check to whom the fee should be credited and the expected semester of enrollment. The application fee is not required of students seeking admission status as a Readmitted Student. All other admissions categories require an application fee.

Take the ACT or SAT and have your official test results sent to MMI. Or, you may chose to take the institutional version of the ACT at MMI.  Scores taken from the institutional version ACT will be accepted by MMI as equivalent to the national test.

Once You've Applied:
All students are required to live on campus.  Exception is made for students residing with their parents in the parent's principle residence within 25 miles of MMI as determined by an official state map. An additional Commuter Information form must be completed to request exceptions to policy. Falsification of information subjects the student to applicable fees and/or disciplinary procedures. Regardless of age, certain regulations apply to cadets living on campus. MMI reserves the right to approve or deny housing for those over the age of 21.

Apply for financial assistance by the March 15 priority deadline. Secure the necessary forms from your high school guidance counselor.

Arrange to have a final high school transcript (clearly indicating your graduation date) sent to the Office of Admissions immediately after you graduate.

Attend pre-registration session.
